New SUPERNATURAL Addition

Jensen Ackles (Dean) and Jared Padalecki (Sam) have been hinting that Supernatural isn't quite over yet. Fans are going nuts. SPOILERS AHEAD (if you haven't watched Season 15, you may not want to read on.)

Since it ended with Season 15 and both brothers dead, people have wanted a revival. Well, hold on to your seats. It might just be coming your way. I for one cannot wait. The ending to Supernatural disappointed me. They killed off Dean during a run-of-the-mill hunt. After he had been killed in such interesting and spectacular ways like being blown away, hit by a car, and killed by an angel with a grudge, we were expecting a better ending for him.

Honestly, I don't think it should have been Dean that died. Sam fans are going to hate me for saying this, but I think it would have made more since for him to go than Dean. Sam used to want a normal life, but he'd changed his mind over the years. He was a hunter and going to stay that way. It was Dean who longed for a real family. He got a taste of it when Sam was in Hell, but as soon as Sam returned, things changed for Dean. He couldn't have a normal life anymore.

Dean had been looking out for his younger brother since their father handed Sam to Dean as a baby and told him to take him outside. The house was on fire. So Dean ran out the door with Sam and has been protecting him ever since. Sam doesn't seem to appreciate it or understand it.

Of course, Dean wasn't the perfect brother. We get glimpses of him leaving Sam in the motel room alone while he plays video games, and he used to leave him at a game zone type place infested with clowns. But Dean does take his job to protect Sammy very seriously. We see that when Sam dies at the end of season 2. Dean weeps over his brother's dead body and accuses himself of screwing up the one job that he had to do: take care of Sam. Keep him alive.

If one brother has to die while the other goes on without him, I think it should be Sam. Dean would be free to live his life if Sam wasn't around and he didn't have to protect him. He could have returned to Lisa and Ben. Maybe they could have had children.

Of course, we have no way of knowing what a reboot of the show would mean. Personally, I always thought they should die, go to heaven, and meet up with their father. John Winchester throws a gun into the trunk of his old car (Dean's current ride) and says, "We have work to do."

I would like it if they ended it with the boy continuing the hunt in some way.

I Was Blindsided

Did you watch the Golden Bachelor? I wasn't going to because I didn't want to see old people making out in hot tubs, but I eventually gave it a try. I was glad I did... until the finale. WTH?? Leslie (the favorite to win) says she was blindsided, and she wasn't the only one.

On their overnight fantasy dates, Gerry said things to her that made it seem like he'd made up his mind and she was the one. Not only did he tell Leslie that he loved her, he waxed poetic about her, saying something about wanting hers to be the last face he sees every night and the first he sees in the morning. What was she supposed to think? I didn't hear him say anything like that to the other woman.

Speaking of the other woman, her name is Theresa, and he chose her in the end. But I don't think that was his original plan. If you go back and watch all of the episodes, you will notice he treats Leslie differently from the other women. She even said he slipped a sweet note into her pocket on a group date. He even admitted to thinking about her when he was with Theresa.

Another thing he did was whisper, "You're my girl," into Leslie's ear more that once. It seemed as though he'd made up his mind and she was the one. If I was her, I would already have my wedding planned out at that point. He made it sound like he was in love with her and already knew he was going to propose to her.

When he and Leslie were riding ATVs, he kept worrying about her and was constantly looking back to check on her. But when he rose horses with Theresa, he just called over his shoulder once, "You good back there?"

Personally, I think he made the final decision with his head instead of his heart. He seemed like a man in love when he grabbed Leslie on their final date and held her close for a long time. He cried. She cried. It was like he didn't want to let her go. Then he told her he was in love with the other woman.

WHAT?! I could not believe my ears. More than once he had called Theresa the 'safe choice.' I guess he decided he wanted to be safe and comfortable (another word he used while talking about her.)

He gave us a hint on the Live show when he said everything changed on their fantasy suite date. Apparently, Theresa told him about her marriage. Just like him, she'd lost her spouse after decades of marriage. So they had a lot in common. He said he realized she knew what it took to make a marriage work, and that's why he chose her. Leslie had been divorced twice. Naturally, he would be worried about marrying someone who hadn't had a long-lasting relationship.

I think she also shot herself in the foot when she met his daughters. They asked her if she would say yes to a proposal. She admitted to having anxiety over it and mentioned she'd never been able to commit. Red flag!

Gerry probably made the right decision, but we'll never really know. My mother had been divorced four times when she met my current stepfather. His spouse had died after years together, like Gerry. And like Gerry, he was worried about marrying someone who hadn't had a successful relationship.

Well, they are together more than twenty years later. Turns out my mother just needed to find a man who wouldn't cheat. Every single man before him had cheated on her. I'm glad my stepfather gave her a chance and didn't do a Gerry. :)

My superpower? I can figure out what's going to happen in a movie/show sometimes before opening credits. My record was the time I guessed the surprise ending by just watching the scenes. Sadly, my friends don't appreciate my superpower.
